First ever victories in Styria: Sarka Pancochova (CZE) and Daisuke Murakami (JPN) have celebrated their career's first ever LG Snowboard FIS World Cup victories in the halfpipe at Kreischberg. The Czech rider dominated the ladies' night final with 42.1 points thus relegating China's Zhifeng Sun (40.6) and Xu Chen (40.5) to the second and third spot respectively. On the men's side, Murakami was the unbeaten freestyler earning 43.2 points edging off Swiss young gun Patrick Burgener to the runner-up spot (42.5). Norway's Tore Holvik rounded out the podium as third (42.1).

In the ladies' final on the Bucheben slope, the 2009 World Championships runner-up relegated reigning World Champion Helene Olafsen (NOR) and Sandra Frei (SUI) to the second and third spot respectively. Nelly Moenne Loccoz from France had to settle for the ungrateful fourth rank. On the men's side Holland edged World Cup leader Pierre Vaultier (FRA) and Mario Fuchs (AUT) to second and third while World Champion Markus Schairer (AUT) finished fourth.

At the debut of Veysonnaz, Switzerland, as World Cup host, the reigning World Champion successfully competed in the ladies' final relegating Canada's Dominique Maltais and Maelle Ricker as well as Alexandra Jekova from Bulgaria to the second to fourth rank respectively. The young Norwegian rider thus climbed up to third in the World Cup ranking which is still led by Ricker. On the men's side, Pierre Vaultier was the fastest rider proofing once again that he is on fire. The 22-years-old World Cup leader from France secured his season's third win on the \Piste de l'Ours\" slope which was peppered with 16 features by edging off David Speiser (GER) to the runner-up spot. In the last parallel race counting as a quota qualifier for the Olympic Games, Ekaterina Tudegesheva (RUS) and Michael Lambert (CAN) have come out victorious in Nendaz, Switzerland. While the Russian rider was able to edge of Nicolien Sauerbreij (NED) in the ladies' final of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup season's fourth parallel giant slalom thus taking home her career's second win, Michael Lambert celebrated his first ever World Cup triumph.

Bei bestem Wetter und moderaten Temperaturen über einer gschlossenen Nebeldecke über dem Inntal freuten sich schließlich etwa 140 Tourenskisportler auf einen schönen Renntag.

The World Cup week in Telluride, USA, wrapped up today with the second ever Snowboard Cross team race in the history of the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup. In the last event of an action-packed World Cup debut in Colorado in which two riders made up a team in order to race together, it was Lindsey Jacobellis and Faye Gulini (both USA) on the ladies side and Xavier Delerue and Pierre Vaultier (both FRA) on the men's side who came out victorious on the 1.020 metres long course built on Misty Maiden slope. The two US girls just edged Canada's Maelle Ricker and Dominique Maltais in a photo finish to the runner-up spot. Switzerland's Simona Meiler and Tanja Frieden came in third. On the men's side, USA's very own Nick Baumgartner and Nate Holland as well as Canada's Mike Robertson and Drew Neilson rounded out the podium as second and third respectively.

Die 23. FIL-Naturbahnrodel-Europameisterschaft fand vom 15. bis 17. Januar 2010 auf der Naturrennrodelbahn Mariazellerland in der Gemeinde Sankt Sebastian in der Steiermark statt. Zusätzlich zu den Einsitzerbewerben der Damen und Herren und dem Doppelsitzer der Herren wurde erstmals bei Europameisterschaften ein Mannschaftsbewerb ausgetragen, an dem je Team zwei Einsitzer (Damen und Herren) und ein Doppelsitzerpaar teilnahmen.
